Sonam Kapoor is a happy girl these days. The reason her dad’d film Slumdog Millionaire hit a jack pot. Along with Anil Kapoor Sonam Kapoor is also jumping with joy. Slumdog Millionaire, making waves throughout the world, Anil Kapoor also managed to bag the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
“I really have no words to express how I feel. To receive such accolades about the film gave me a great sense of pride; not only as an Indian, but also as an actor. All of us, the entire crew felt the same way.” Says Anil Kapoor.
Anil Kapoor tells us about the mindblowing reception at the award functions, “It was strange, because all the people were treating it like it was their own film. It was like a movement. Everybody loved the film. Everyone’s emotion was the same. Los Angeles is a city that embraces talent. We got immense support from every corner.” Hollywood couldn’t stop praising the film. “The Screen Actors Guild Awards comprises only actors. They are our peers. We received a warm reception from them. They spoke kind words about the film. I met Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin and Mark Wahlberg. I got an opportunity to meet Mr Steven Spielberg, and I’m meeting Dustin Hoffman later in the evening.” Talk about power meetings!
As a producer, he wishes to bring the best of Hollywood and Bollywood together. “I want to do that. I’ll try my best to felicitate everybody. I want to get all my friends in India and abroad to work together.” If he ever got an opportunity to play a real host for a TV show, would he take it? “Yes of course,” he replies promptly. Hope the TV producers are listening!
